Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Price Firewall ("the app", "we", "us"), provided by Boro Radojčić, processes when a Shopify merchant installs and uses it, why, and for how long.
1. What Price Firewall is
Price Firewall is a Shopify app that watches the prices of your product variants. When a price change matches the rules you configure (for example a price set to zero, a large drop or increase, an invalid compare-at price, or many changes in a short time), it records an incident, can alert you by email and, on eligible Pro configurations, can restore the last safe price.
2. Information we process
Store and account metadata
Your shop's Shopify ID, myshopify domain, shop name and store currency; installation and uninstallation dates; and catalog synchronization status.
Product and variant data
For the variants the app monitors: product and variant identifiers, product and variant titles, SKUs, prices, compare-at prices and Shopify's last-updated time. Product update notifications sent by Shopify contain this product information and are held briefly for processing.
Price history and safe baselines
The last accepted ("safe") price and compare-at price for each variant, and short-lived records of observed price changes used to detect bulk changes.
Incident and rollback records
For each flagged change: the product and variant, the safe and detected prices, which rule matched, the action taken (alert, simulated or automatic rollback), the outcome, timestamps and email delivery status. We also keep an internal activity log of app events for your shop (for example installation, settings changes and rollbacks).
App settings
Whether protection is on, the protection mode, rule thresholds and actions, and the alert email address you choose to enter. This address may be a personal work address; it is used only to send you Price Firewall alerts.
Billing and subscription metadata
Subscriptions are sold and charged by Shopify. We receive and store only the plan you are on (Free or Pro), its status, billing period, trial end and cancellation flags, the Shopify subscription identifier and when it was last verified. We never receive card or bank details.
Authentication data
When you install the app, Shopify issues an access token for your store with the permissions to read and write products (read_products, write_products). We store this token and its refresh token so the app can read prices and restore them. The app uses store-level access; it does not store the names or email addresses of your staff accounts.
Support communications
If you contact support, we process the information you choose to send (for example your email address, name, shop domain and message) to answer you.
Technical and log data
Our servers record operational logs (for example timestamps, shop domain, internal record identifiers, job results and error messages) and background-job records that reference data by internal identifier only. Access tokens are redacted from logs. The public pages you are reading do not use tracking cookies or advertising analytics.
3. Why we process it
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Detect dangerous price changes against your rules | Product/variant data, baselines, price observations, settings |
| Restore a safe price (Pro, when enabled) | Baselines, incidents, access token |
| Show incidents and status in the app | Incidents, store metadata, settings |
| Send alert emails | Alert email address, incident details |
| Apply your plan's features and limits | Billing and subscription metadata |
| Operate, secure and troubleshoot the service | Logs, job records, activity log |
| Respond to support requests | Information you send us |
We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use your store data to train AI models.
4. Sharing and service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the app, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Shopify: the platform the app runs on; we read and update product prices through Shopify's APIs and verify your subscription with Shopify.
- Hosting provider: runs our servers and stores the app database.
- Database provider, if the database is hosted separately from the servers.
- Transactional email provider: delivers alert emails to the address you configured.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and service.
5. Retention
- Incident history: 7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro; older incidents are deleted automatically.
- Product update notifications from Shopify: deleted 14 days after processing.
- Bulk-change price observations: deleted after about 2 days.
- Baselines, settings, the activity log and billing metadata: kept while the app is installed.
- Operational logs: kept only as long as needed for troubleshooting and security, then rotated.
- Backups: database backups are kept for a limited rolling period and then overwritten.
6. When you uninstall
When you uninstall, protection stops immediately: queued rollbacks are cancelled, the app stops processing your store's notifications and the stored access tokens are deleted. Shopify then sends a shop data erasure request (normally about 48 hours after uninstall). When it arrives, we delete all data we hold for your store: store metadata, settings, baselines, price observations, incidents, the activity log and stored notifications. Copies in backups expire with the backup rotation.
7. Privacy requests
Shopify forwards privacy requests to apps through mandatory webhooks. Because Price Firewall does not store data about your customers, a customer data request or customer erasure request has no customer records to export or delete; we verify and acknowledge it. A shop erasure request deletes your store's data as described above.
Merchants may ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of the data we hold about their store, or of their alert email address, by writing to bororadojcic1991@gmail.com. You can also change or remove the alert email at any time in the app's Settings.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data: encrypted connections (HTTPS) between Shopify, the app and your browser; verification of every Shopify notification signature; access to your data scoped to your own store; the minimum Shopify permissions the app needs; restricted access to servers and the database; and redaction of tokens from logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected merchants of a security incident as required by applicable law.
9. International processing
Price Firewall is operated from Serbia. Our servers and service providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, inform merchants through the app or by email.
